4 Critical Phases Of Friendship And Business

by David Benton Get Rich the right way.

A wise man asked the question: What are the characteristics I should look for in a true friend or business partner?  You may have asked the same question before.  Most of us have wondered how we could have been so wrong, when choosing friends and business associates.

I will identify 4 critical phases that test friends and business partners, and what you need to look for in each.

1)      When You Are Down

It is important to see how people react to you when you hit hard times.  A true partner will be there for you.  They will make sure they dust you off, and get you back on your horse.  Remember that this goes both ways.  You need to reach out to others in a bind to lend a helping hand.  If your future partner in life or business avoids you, don’t invest too much time developing this relationship.  You might try at a later date, but not at this season in your life.  They will learn from the University of Hard Knocks, to be there for others.

2)      When They Are Down

How do they react when the heat is on them?  Do they continue to hold their head high with great expectations?  It is important to keep a positive attitude when under fire.  If they are not cut from this cloth, they can easily poison you with negativity.  Just a few negative thoughts from important people in your life can erode your momentum.  Do not underestimate the power of exposure.  Exposing your sensitive mind to negative talk will halt your success faster than anything I know of.  Avoid listening to, watching, or participating in negative talk.

3)      When They Are Up

This is a very unique time to observe a person.  I have seen friends who were sensitive to other’s needs and great friends, until they had some degree of success.  Suddenly, they became arrogant and proud.  They became difficult to be around.  They seemed to know everything.  We all gain knowledge over time.  As we age, we gain much more knowledge and understanding than our younger or less hungry contemporaries.  It is important that we restrain our knowledge and let others answer.  You may know more than everyone else, but let someone else give the answers for your own humility.  I have seen people full of pride and arrogance tear others dreams apart because they lost perspective.  These people aren’t normally able to hold on to success for long.  Others can’t stand to be around them long enough to accumulate anything.

4)      When You Are Up

This is one of the more critical times to observe a potential friend or business partner.  When things are going well for you, can they celebrate with you?  You have seen this one.  You finally start reaching some degree of success, and your “so called” friend suddenly becomes jealous.  No longer are they able to pity you and help you out of the ditch.  Now it’s different.  They become jealous by your success and compare themselves to you.  They have lost focus.  Instead of celebrating because you are doing well and pushing you to greater heights, they want to tear you back down to where they are.  Do not spend time with these people.  If you continue to hang around them, they truly will bring you back down to a previous level of misery that you fought so hard to overcome.

In conclusion, you must observe people in all phases of life in order to fully assess their value.  The best news of all is you can have it all.  Mentally assess and separate your current friends and business associates into their proper categories.  Do not call upon the jealous ones during your times of celebration.  Do not talk about your successes around them.  Remember who you are dealing with before you open your mouth.  When you are down, you will know who to call on.  When you are making out the invitations to celebrate your victory, choose carefully.  If you find someone who passes the 4 phase test, stick to them like glue.  They are truly rare, and a very mature.  You can’t have too many associations like that.

The Secret Law of Attraction

So you say you heard about The Secret Law of Attraction.  There is usually one burning question that most people have the first time they hear about it.  Does it really work?  I can tell you from personal experience that it does.  If it works, then why do some people oppose it?  We humans tend to reject the unfamiliar.

I was taught the many principles of The Secret Law of Attraction from a young age by my highly successful father.  He never gave it a name.  He just laid out the ideas as I grew up.  He gave me the biggest part of it around the 7th grade.  It was at that time, my life completely changed.  It was like a magic wand was waved over me, and I began to live a fairytale.  I explain my miracle life transformation that took place in my book Eliminate Competition With The R-Factor.  Anybody can do what I have done and accomplished.  If you continue to do what you are doing now, you will assure yourself of similar results. If you learn what I learned, you will break out of the rut you are in now, and live the life you were put on this planet to live.  The fact that you are reading this is proof that good changes are on the way for you.

This is where The Secret Law of Attraction can really pay off.  I break the Law of Attraction down into simple to apply principles in my Life Power Pack Principles Bundle.  I include an audio program, Slaying The Giant Between Your Ears. It helps to break you out of the same old habits that are getting you the same old results.  Both of these resources are condensed and to the point.  You can tear through them in a couple of days if you are serious about making a positive change in your life.

I recently heard a Christian pastor say this whole concept was a load of "you know what."  He said it in a polite way, of course.  He must not have read all the things about moving mountains that I read in the Bible.  I would have understood if he said there were parts he disagreed with like the genie stuff.  God is no genie. He is also no man or small, concise entity.

I look forward to helping you reach your personal goals and dreams, so you can make a great positive impact on our world.  Let's go get 'em.

David Benton

3 Ways to Get an Avalanche of Sales

by Dr. David Benton Get Rich the right way.

Do you have a crew of employees that are unwilling to deliver good customer service? Is it because you are heavy-handed?

Customer service skills development is a tremendous tool in retaining customers and building new business for little or no cost.

1. Assess Your Current Customer Service Skills
The first step to enhanced customer service skills is to assess your current position. If you are operating a single retail unit, make a conscious effort to observe your employees interacting with your customers. Take notes when there is conflict, and when the employee handles a situation well. Observe each employee in action, and have someone else observe them while you are away. It's amazing how some employees will give a different level of service when the highest ranking member of management is present verses other supervisors. You will want to get an accurate assessment.

If you are in sales, you will have to rely on your manager's field assessment, when they visit you. Make sure to request a full and honest evaluation so you can improve. You can also ride with a collegue, requesting that they observe you and give you feedback.

2. Coach Your Employees
Be careful not to jump into the middle of your employee's flow, during the issues. This can be difficult, but it is critical to build trust for the long term. If the employee is entirely out of line, you will obviously have to step in to guide them. By letting them handle the situation, even if they don't handle it perfectly, you build the employee's confidence. With some gentle guidance, at the proper time, you can guide them on optional ways to handle a similar situation that may develop later.

Never let a customer humiliate your employee by objectifying them, such as name-calling or cursing them. This is unacceptible behavior for any human being, and if your business is dependent on tolerating this type of social interaction, you should get into another business. Your employee deserves to maintain their dignity and respect while making you money.

As a manager, you may choose to step in and ask the customer to leave or continue to attempt to resolve the situation. Regardless, remove the employee from the line of fire, period.

Go over several ways to bring customers frustrations to a desireable resolution. One of the most effective ways that I know of to handle customer satisfaction issues is to create an empathetic mindset. Teach your employee to see the problem from you customer's standpoint. It is so easy to take it all personally. We all are prone to feel like the customer is attacking us. The truth is, it's the problem at hand, not us. Once you convice your employee of this, they will handle your customer with more tact, and correct problems with ease.

3. Praise Your Employees
Just as important as coaching, is to praise the employee when they handle a difficult customer with a good outcome. Remember, you may have failed to please this customer had you been the one handling their issue. Every customer reacts differently depending on the employee and the employee's approach to the proble.

If you choose to discipline your employees with a heavy hand, you will discover that you are not their parent. You will have very few talented people willing to put up with your obnoxious, immature, and uneducated corrective measures. Since you are not your employee's parent, many of the good ones will walk away, leaving you with the undesireable task of training a new employee. Those who are willing to stay will have an abundance of personality weaknesses that will be difficult to train.

You must encourage your workers on a regular basis and thank them for their help. Everyone responds well to encouragement and praise. It makes us want to try harder.

Take the time to evalutate your strenghts and weakness in your customer service delivery. Coach your employees and look for opportunites to praise them. You will begin to see immediate changes in customer-employee interactions that lead to business growth. All this can be achieved without any capital outlay whatsoever. Never underestimate the power a good customer service, when it comes to building and maintaining your business.

Boosting Your Business

In order to get rich the right way and boost you business, you have to do something different. You have to do something that separates you from your competition. Most businesses that I have managed for larger companies have fully capable systems in place for basic management functions.  Most of them are turnkey operations.  Anyone can get free advice on setting up and starting a business.  Most of the guidance is sound if you use common sense.  None of these systems teach a business or sales manager how to grow their business.  What?  That's right.  I have not yet seen a major company teach its employees how to grow their business.  They might think they have, but they haven't.  I have been successfully doubling and tripling my business over twenty years.  I have never had upper management teach techniques that will actually grow the business.  They somehow think that all you have to do is follow the fiscal plan and you're in business.  Let the home office do the advertising and customers will come flooding through the doors.

The good news is that a business can grow organically without outside advertising.  National advertising campaigns are expensive.  It's one thing to get name recognition, and another thing to get customers to respond.  They may know who you are and never darken the doors of your beautiful brick building.  Who cares if you spent thousands to millions on a beautiful advertising campaign?  It might just be good entertainment to the potential customer.  You want them to act on the message and come to your location, or be ready for your call if you’re in sales.  If you are not already applying some very specific customer building techniques, the cost of the ad campaign will sink you faster.  I have seen millions spent on ads and sound business building ignored with disastrous results.

Stay tuned for more information about getting true business growth with little to no investment.  I do it repeatedly and regularly and so can you.
